I'm opening this as a pull request in case you want to do things differently (e.g. merge from rawhide first, use a microbump for the release value, etc.).

If you merge this PR, please also build it and create the bodhi update.

If you don't respond within two weeks, I plan to merge and build as is.

I just built a new version (2 days ago) of this tool for epel8, and I've verified that the new version in the testing repo has the /usr/bin/python3.6 shebang line already, so I'll close this PR as it appears to be unnecessary. Thanks for the explanation in your PR and linked mailing list page!
