Revert ligatures added in 2.012 pre-release (#1679218)
    
    Apply upstream patched which remove ligatures for the following
    characters/operators: fi, fl, !==, ===, ->, =>, >=, <-, & <=.
    
    Because this is a binary patch, use git to apply it.  This allows us to
    use the upstream patch directly (though for usability, use a proper file
    name as output from git format-patch).
